1. O king you are a father to your subjects, bring them up. O queen! You also behave accordingly.
2. O king! Your first duty is to undertake the spread of knowledge and the administration of justice. The second duty is to propagate religious truths.
3. O king! Improve the military expertise, prolong the life of people, and advance the children. Advance the knowledge of vedas.
4. O men understand the God's activities and laws of creation, preservation and dissolution. Benefit from that understanding.
5. The learned people understand the lofty attributes of god.
6. O king! Keep all the people and all animals under control of law.
7. O king! Use learned people to increase the pleasures of your subjects and of yourself.
8. O rich sons, learn and get good training.
9. I initiate new brahmacharis by sprinkling them water and corn. May your father, mother, brothers, friends and fellow students grant you permission for my discipleship.
10. O pupil! devote yourself to learning.
11. O performers of yajnas! Rear cows to get ghee.
12. O learned person! Do not behave crookedly or proudly. Tread on the paths of truth and moral rightness.
13. Girls must be endowed with noble qualities and married to educated husbands.
14. O disciple! Maintain cleanliness of your body and all its organs.
15. O disciple! Listen to me and observe my actions.
16. O disciple! Understand all the intricate problems.
17. O learned persons! Keep me away from sin.
18. O warrior! The fire of righteous indignation spur you in the battle to win victory for us.
19. O general! Your orders and commands should reach all corners of your military and win the war.
20. O general! Your mother, father and relatives should encourage you in the battle.
21. O disciple! Go to all the places and learn from them.
22. O king! Protect wells, tanks, canals and forests.
23. O learned persons! Waters in well, tanks and canals contribute to your purity, comfort and usefulness.
24, 25. O virgins! Select your husbands from eligible bachelors with care and enjoy life with them. Both of you should do noble deeds.
26. O noble king! Allow your subjects to make complaints and do justice to them. Let the queen listen to ladies and help them. Let judges listen to people and do justice.
27. People should select as king one among them who is strong, knowledgeable and will be able to guide and control people.
28. O farmer! Become fit to cultivate the land and produce food crops and medicinal crops.
29. O king! People require maintenance in their old ages as they supplied food to others when they were young. This is a proper rule.
30. O my subjects! Pay the tax levied on you as it contributes to efficient administration.
31. O subjects and legislators! Maintain cordial relations with my officers so that they can work properly and help you.
32. We appoint you as king because you are knowledgeable, strong and quick acting. Use all your faculties and make us rich and comfortable.
33. O king! With all your powers protect the yajnas (projects, businesses, occupations) of your subjects.
34. O ladies, you are the possessors of practical wisdom and you help your husbands in the yajnas. Do your sacrifice of domestic life.
35. O woman! Cultivate the strength of your body and soul.
36. O mother! Love your children. O children you should love your mother.
37. O mighty, glorious king, make your subjects progress and make them capable of doing great deeds.
