Shukla Yajurveda Chapter 13

1. O Commander of the army! Attack the foes  with the support of ministers and military associated with its paraphernalia.

 

2. O king! Make progress in your duty of administration.

 

3. O king! Extend happines to the virtuous and punish the wicked.

 

4. People should know that  a country flourishes in which there are men, active as air, there are men that strive for intellectual supremacy as well as justice, there are men who administer the land efficiently with statesmanship, and there are men who use wisdom-inspiring and pleasure giving speech. (Shloka or Yajus 15)

 

5. O Queen! You have all the best things in life (The most desirable husband, dresses, ornaments, helpers). You are free from distress (which many other ladies may suffer). Advance the country under thy rule.

 

6. O woman! Attain to fame living permanently with your husband. You and your husband are inseparable as cause and effect.

 

7. Teachers and preachers incite love for learning in students. Examiners have to examine the learners without any bias.

 

8. O woman! Live permanently with they husband.

 

9. Husband and wife have to work together like Sun and Moon. They should live together constantly like the breath of person and the person. 

 

10. O woman! Lengthen our line of descendants with sons and grandsons. We serve you with presents for this service to us.

 

11. O wife! I keep you satisfied and you keep me pleased.

 

12. O learned person! You have to incessantly engage in action like sun, who provides light, rain,  and energy throughout all universe. You have to go on the virtuous path, the path that benefits you, your family members and rest of the people in the society.

 

Protect the environment

 

13. O learned person!  Do not harm the wind, oceans, and rivers. (shloka/yajus: 42)

 

14. O learned person! Do not harm the earth. Earth is the repository of water and its gives us countless fruits. (Shloka/yajus: 44)

 

15. O learned person! Do not feel inconvenienced by the fire that comes from earth or from sun. It only sustains the earth and living beings on earth.

 

These statements exhort learned persons to do appropriate acts to protect the five elements which are essential for living beings.
